Our Amateur Wedding Photoshoot in a Castle in Budapest

Sasha and I are married!! We celebrated our destination wedding on 26 September, 2018 at a winery on the island of Crete in Chania, Greece, where we got engaged in July of 2017. We had a total of 30 of our closest friends and family, visiting from 9 different countries all over the world. We’ve just returned with full hearts from the most magical one-month long honeymoon visiting six countries including: Vancouver, BC, Crete, Greece, London, UK, Vienna, Austria, Budapest, Hungary, and Moscow, Russia. Because professional wedding photography can take up to three months, we decided to wake up early and take sunrise photos in our wedding attire (since we traveled through six countries with it!) at one of the most beautiful places in Budapest….Fisherman’s Bastion. Enjoy these photos of our amateur photoshoot.

At the time of our photoshoot, it was around 48 degrees F., but there was no wind, so in between shots I would put my poofy jacket back on, warm up my hands, and then take more photos.

We arrived to the Castle around 7:00 AM just as the light was beginning to descend upon the city of Pest across the bridge of our vantage point on Buda hill. Wedding Photoshoot at Fisherman's Bastion - Budapest, Hungary

Wow woweewa!

Even though it was relatively early, there were still quite a few people up and about, taking photos and setting up tripods. We laughed to ourselves at how many girls were also dressed up, taking the perfect shot that will likely end up on Instagram.

Right around 7:30 AM, several huge vehicles arrived dropping off bus loads of Chinese tourists, who literally started running up the steps of the castle to get their photos of sunrise. We decided to leave the area to avoid getting stampeded, and went off to the nearby church to continue our photoshoot.
